As the lead illustrator and art director for the Always book brand (in collaboration with the NHL), I was charged with creating cute, inclusive, and exciting character designs and a brand identity that both parents and kids would love. I spent months working with my team to hone in and create memorable colours and expressions and ways of doing that could not only make us stand out but make the readers feel represented and part of the process, which was of the utmost importance for a brand of customizable books. With two books published under our belt and two more in the process of being released i hope that kids of all ages can enjoy in living out their dreams.
Working with the director and producers I was tasked with creating the layout, background art and feel for the sets in this short film. The script spanned many decades and places, going from 1930s and modern-day Alberta to WWII France, and it involved so much research and detail which I LOVED. I melded the design of the characters with the work of E.H. Shepards war sketches and tried to make not only a believable space but somewhere that felt lived in and familiar.

Elias is a 12 year old who has spent her life living in an isolated witch community, who have been in hiding since the witch trials. She was born in 1955 as a natural, on with given powers, curious and wanting to see the world, constantly escaping her small community to sneak peaks at the outside.

From a comic book concept About a girl (Ada) who goes in and out of fantasy and reality. She gets caught up in a cold case being investigated by the crew of dying true crime show, “Small towns, Big Mysteries” and must help them and herself find the truth.
